Profile of the Chairman and Leader of the Apostles’ Continuation Church International, Apostle Clement Brakatu

Apostle Clement Brakatu was born to Mr. Michael Adams Brakatu of Anum in the Eastern Region and Madam Afia Fofie of Sampa in the Brong Ahafo Region, all in Ghana.
Born in 1952 at Wenchi in the Brong Ahafo Region, Apostle Clement Brakatu had his Elementary Education at the Wenchi Presbyterian Primary and Middle Schools from 1960 to 1970.

He continued his education by offering a course in Treasury at Wenchi Farming Institute, obtaining a General Certificate in Agriculture in 1972.

“Papa”, as he is affectionately called by general membership of the Apostles’ Continuation Church International, started with a humble profession as a “Farm Assistant” at Bechem Secondary School, between 1973 and 1975. With hard work gained a promotion to the status of “Senior Farm Assistant” at Duayaw Nkwanta Senior Secondary School between 1976 and 1986. It is worthy to note that this marked the genesis of a ‘great man’; God called him to His Ministry.

It was at Duayaw Nkwanta Senior Secondary School where Apostle Paul Manu led him to join a prayer meeting that had been organized by the former and the Late Founder and Leader of this church, Apostle Emmanuel Kwadwo Owusu.

The trio managed to transform the prayer meetings into a full-fledged church, marking the birth of the Apostles’ Continuation Church, and vigorously embarked on opening branches, especially in the Brong Ahafo Region in Ghana. Areas like Techiman, Kintampo, Manso, Tano Boase, Asuotiano and Dwomo had earlier branches of what was to spread internationally.

The crusade continued until 1988 when Chairman Brakatu decided to do God’s work full time, thereby abandoning his initial profession and becoming a Full Minister of God. The Late Founder asked him to proceed to Kumasi in the Ashanti Region to start a church branch at Suame, a suburb of Kumasi.

Notably, Suame branch, now known as the Mpatasie Branch was voted as the Regional Headquarters in the Ashanti Region. As the designated head of the Ashanti Region, he opened other Branches within and beyond the region. Branches like Koforidua, Sampa (in Brong Ahafo Region), Kasaam, Old Tafo, Labour, Kronom, Ashanti Mampong, Konongo Odumase, Dunkwa on Offin, were all opened by him.

Chairman Brakatu commenced his foreign ministration in 1995, when he accompanied the late Founder Apostle Emmanuel Kwadwo Owusu to visit the then newly founded branch in Toronto, and also to explore the possibility of extending branches within and beyond Canada. After the Founder had left the Toronto Branch in his care, Chairman Brakatu saw to the growth of the branch, and also endeavored to establish other branches in Montreal (Canada), New York (Bronx), and Columbus, Ohio (USA). Across the Atlantic, he saw to the establishment of branches in Great Britain (London), Spain (Barcelona), and The Netherlands. Together, the Chairman Brakatu has opened over 21 branches both local and foreign.

The excellent hallmarks of Chairman Brakatu, the International Leader/Chairman of this Great Church including God-fearing, dedication, devotion, enterprise, truthfulness, boldness, dynamism, kindness, care, selflessness, earned him the Chairman and Leader of The Apostles’ Continuation Church International; a conferment the Late Founder did few months before his departure to eternity. (May His Soul Rest In Perpetual Peace)

Chairman Brakatu is married to Mrs. Elizabeth Ameyaa Brakatu and is blessed with 6 children; 4 girls and 2 boys.
